More Press Coverage

Sweet! There is another article about the ride in the Saturday, Asbury Park Press. Click here to see the online version.

My parents told me that the paper version has a few good pictures of me at the Pacific Ocean. If you live in Jersey, check it out.

Last minute details are getting wrapped up today. Launch is still scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Thank you everyone!

Hey man-
I saw your story in the Asbury Park Press and I just wanted to wish you luck on your ride. I just got back home to Manasquan after riding from NH-BC, and let me tell you a secret: peanut butter... tons of calories, small, easy to find at pretty much every gas station. Good luck and enjoy your ride, I've got you a beer in Manasquan when you get here if you want it.

This morning I am thinking about Drew. I am thinking about his grandma (whom I never met) and about Brian (whom I never met) and about Dan (whom I hope to meet) and about my friend Celeste (died of a brain tumor) and my brother (leukemia survivor) and my little friend Julia (leukemia survivor) and about the ever-rising number of children with cancer. I am thinking about our air and water and soil and how clean it all once was. I am thinking about all the good people in this country that want things to be better and don't know how to make a difference. I am thinking about Chris Edwards and Vicki Walker, local people that are running for public office because they just can't stand to see what is going on. I am thinking about Val Hoyle, a local 'soccer mom' that is now chair of the Lane County Democrats because she just couldn't stand to see what is going on. I am thinking about all of the people that meditate for peace. I am thinking about the Interfaith Worship Service that has met on the 11th of every month since 10/11/01, to celebrate diversity of devotion to the Divine. And I am thinking of Drew's legs spinning spinning spinning around and around and around as he clicks off miles. I am thinking about Drew's rhythmic breaths and blinks. I am thinking about how all of these things are connected.

Corey and I never have been so glued to a blog nor did I ever understand what a blog was. Drew we are both thinking of you and your cause. You really are making a difference and are on a journey or 'survival'. Enjoy your time; 1/3 of the way through and the rest of the way will be a breeze. Let the wind be at your back and the sun show on your face
